Crimsafe Bushfire Compliant Screening

Fish River Station in the Northern Territory presented a unique set of challenges to the team at UniSA and Stan Bond. Located some 3,500km from Adelaide, the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation aimed to restore and upgrade the existing Ranger accommodation, preserving original features where possible, but designing new features to improve the living conditions of the Rangers while on country.

Crimsafe screens were specified by UniSA due to their suitableness for the extreme climatic conditions of the NT outback. The versatile screens used, provide class leading protection against bushfires and insects, while supporting passive design principles by allowing air-flow through the structure to reduce any need for air conditioning and keeping Rangers and their belongings safe.

Crimsafe Authorised Licensee Stan Bond, fabricated, delivered and installed all screens in collaboration with UniSA’s Design Construct team. Each screen was fabricated to a specific measurement by Stan Bond, before being delivered to the remote site and installed by the UniSA student and the Rangers in a combined effort.
